RIYADH: A medical team at King Saud University Medical City has adopted a new surgical method for the removal of tumors found at the base of the skull.
The pioneering method involves using a transnasal endoscope to remove large tumors while minimizing complications.
The university’s medical team, which included a neurosurgery team and a sinus surgeon, performed the tumor removal while maintaining the patient’s sense of smell after recovery, the Saudi Press Agency reported.
The success of the surgery confirms the university’s leadership in adopting advanced treatment methods, the SPA added.
